Suitability criteria

You may be suitable for iLASIK or FemtoLASIK if you’re over 18, have a stable glasses prescription, and suffer from nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism. Your corneas must be thick enough, and your eyes must be healthy. A detailed eye exam at our clinic in Bratislava will confirm your suitability. These procedures are typically ideal for people who want to be free of glasses and contacts and are not currently experiencing severe dry eye or corneal conditions.

iLASIK and FemtoLASIK are advanced laser eye surgeries that use femtosecond and excimer lasers to reshape the cornea and correct vision.

In FemtoLASIK, a femtosecond laser creates a thin flap in the cornea, which is then gently lifted. The underlying corneal tissue is reshaped with an excimer laser to match your specific vision needs. The flap is repositioned and heals naturally.

iLASIK is a version of FemtoLASIK that uses wavefront-guided technology for even greater customization. The entire procedure is bladeless, painless, and takes only a few minutes per eye. Most patients notice improved vision within 24 hours.

The technology is highly personalised and offers long-term results. However, these treatments are not suitable for everyone.

People with thin corneas, very dry eyes, or certain medical conditions may be better suited for other procedures. There’s also a small risk of dry eyes or glare at night during the healing period.

After a short rest, you can go home the same day. A follow-up appointment is scheduled the next day.
