Why are you awake during LASIK?
Being awake during the procedure helps the doctor work safely and accurately. During LASIK, you will lie comfortably on a treatment table and look at a small light. The doctor will give you simple instructions that you can calmly follow. This helps to position the eye correctly.
Does LASIK hurt?
No, LASIK is usually not painful. Before the procedure, you will receive numbing eye drops. This will make your eye numb. During the procedure, you may sometimes feel slight pressure. Some patients see lights or notice faint noises from the laser. This is completely normal and part of the procedure.
What do you see during LASIK?
Your vision may become briefly blurred during the procedure. Many people see bright lights or colors. This may seem unusual, but it is completely normal and only lasts a few seconds.
How long does LASIK take?
